Violent movies lower crime rates

According to the New York Times, would be assialants watched violant movies instead of becoming violent themselves. When a new violent movie is in theaters, the crime rates drop because all the murderers and rapists, ect; are satisfied with what the actors do on the screen. Yet some people still believe that this cannot be true, that no one would ever be subdued by a violent movie; perhaps influenced, but not subdued. Also, the critics believe that even a comedy is able to help lower crime rates, but that is still being decided. I beleieve that this could be true. Seriously, pyschologists know that music can affect a person, so why can't a movie? Anyways, movies are a way to get rid of some of our most creative ideas. It doesn't take that long to make a violent movie and keep the crime rates down while it is in theaters or on DVD.

  1. Amelia-I think it takes longer than you think to make one of those films :)

I'm glad this research came out-I'm tired of people doing things wrong and then blaming it on the movies and video games.

This shows that it actually decreases crime. No more excuses for the criminals now!
